Nike Who? I wouldn't trade a pair of Salewa hiking shoes for 10 pair of anything Nike makes......
This is my 3rd pair of exactly this shoe. I buy 1/2 size larger than say a Nike for example as they run small by a 1/2 size in my opinion. I must have purchase as least 8-10 pair of Salewa shoes in the last 10 years. No one makes a better outdoor low cut shoe better than Salewa. i wear them as my everyday shoe summer and winter. I am completely flat footed with orthotics and their stiff sole on this model is comfort plus for me. If you could show 10 stars I would give them that for sure.
Good for light trail hiking. Size 10 is comparable to size 10 in Nike. Good value for the price.
I bought these to have some comfortable shoes for LIGHT trail walking. I have a great pair of hiking boots and am not looking to replace those. I wanted a shoe for walking around some of the relatively level trails near me that are loose gravel and harder to get traction on with traditional sneakers. These worked great for that. I can't speak as to the insole b/c I use aftermarket insoles to help with my plantar fasciitis. These accepted my aftermarket insoles without any problem. I found that the sole gripped well for what I needed it to do. The color is nice (though I tend to favor blue in general. The shoe held up to the abuse I put it through. It meets its value for a $50 shoe.<br /><br />Note this was my second foray into this brand having owned a pair of their cheaper hiking boots in the 90's. Those held up well too.
